Vacation/Sick Leave
A single form of General Leave is provided to allow time off for vacations, personal business, sickness and family emergencies. Additional leave is provided for jury and/or reserve duty, as required. New employees accrue leave at a rate of three weeks per year. Leave accrual increases to four weeks per year after two years of service, five weeks per year after four years of service, and six weeks per year after eight years of service.
Employees may accrue unlimited leave; however, at times the company may find it necessary to reduce an employee's leave balance to below 200 hours. The company may then require the employee to take up to 80 hours of leave. Alternately, the company may elect to pay the employee for leave over 200 hours.

Health/Life/Disability Insurance
PPO and HMO health plans, along with dental coverage, are offered to Full Time and Part Time employees. The company pays for the employee's health and dental coverage, and half of dependent's health and dental coverage.
Health insurance is provided by companies within the National Capital Region's BlueCross/BlueShield family . CareFirst BluePreferred provides the PPO health coverage. CareFirst BlueChoice provides the OpenAccess health coverage. Preferred provider directories for both these plans are available upon request or at www.carefirst.com.
Coverage for employees begins the day after starting work.
The company provides Life and Short/Long-Term Disability insurance to Full Time and Part Time employees. The Life lnsurance coverage is equal to 2 times the employee's annual salary. The company also pays the premiums for this insurance. In addition, employees may elect additional Life Insurance for themselves and immediate family members at their own cost.
The Short-Term Disability (STD) plan pays up to 60% of the employee's weekly salary, with a cap of $2,000/wk. The STD plan provides benefits on the eigth day after a disabling accident or a disabling illness, and provides benefits for a maximum of 12 weeks. After 12 weeks of disability, the Long-Term Disability (LTD) plan takes effect. The LTD plan provides 60% of basic earnings up to a monthly maximum benefit of $10,000 up to age 65. Other details of the STD/LTD plan are available upon request.
CareFirst BluePreferred(PPO)
With BluePreferred , you have incentives in the form of lower deductibles and coinsurance amounts when services are rendered by a Preferred Provider. BluePreferred Providers will file claims on your behalf and accept our preferred plan allowance as payment in full for covered services. You also have the option to use non-participating physicians and file for partial reimbursement.
CareFirst BlueChoice (OpenAccess)
The OpenAccess HMO option couples the cost savings of a traditional HMO with freedom and flexibility. Members choose a PCP (Primary Care Physician) but do not need referrals for specialists.
Prescription Drug Program
The prescription drug program is offered as part of your healthcare benefits. This program covers prescription drugs dispensed by a participating retail pharmacy or the designated mail service pharmacy.
Dental Plan Benefits
With dental benefits from Guardian, you have the freedom to choose the dentist you prefer every time you need care. You can choose to see a dentist within our large network of participating dentists, or you can choose a dentist outside of the network.
Vision Plan Benefits
Davis Vision provides vision coverage for Carefirst PPO and HMO participants. Benefits include annual comprehensive examinations and discounts on lenses and frames and contact lenses.
Flexible Spending Accounts
A Flexible Spending Account (FSA) is available. This allows employees to set up a pre-tax deduction from their pay each week for specific medical or childcare expenses incurred throughout a given year.
Salaries
Salaries are competitive with the industry. Paychecks are issued bi-weekly via direct deposit is offered.
Training/Education
A tuition reimbursement plan pays for tuition, books, supplies and fees for job-related coursework. Job-specific training is also provided, as necessary. Additional information on the tuition reimbursement plan is available on request.
Retirement Plans
A 401(k) plan is currently offered. The provider is Fidelity Investments . Independently of the employee's contribution, the company contributes an amount equal to 3% of the employee's pay for the year. |
